About The OU Health Sciences Center

The OU Health Sciences Center, located in Oklahoma City, is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges. Located in a 15-block area between the state capitol and Oklahoma City’s popular Bricktown entertainment district, some 2,800 students are enrolled annually.

Students at the Health Sciences Center have use of:

  • The clinical, laboratory and teaching facilities of OU Medical Center, the Veterans Administration Medical Center and other affiliated hospitals in Oklahoma City
  • 3 major teaching hospitals in Tulsa
  • Affiliated hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities across Oklahoma

The College of Medicine is the centerpiece of the 61-acre academic health center.

It consists of:

  • 5 basic science departments
  • 16 clinical science departments in Oklahoma City
  • 6 clinical science departments at the College of Medicine in Tulsa
  • 53 separately accredited programs in graduate medical education
