Hematology-Oncology
The most Phase 1 cancer trials in Oklahoma are available here. Many of these new treatments are unavailable anyplace else in the state. For example, our doctors were the first to develop an innovative treatment that speeds platelet recovery after chemotherapy. They also introduced a new treatment for colon and liver cancer. OU Physicians perform approximately 75 bone marrow transplants each year for adults and children through a Bone Marrow Transplant program. With a dedicated Bone Marrow Transplant unit at OU Medical Center, our doctors are able to perform allogeneic (one person to another), related- and unrelated-donor, cord blood and autologous transplants (involving one person as both donor and recipient). Educational and support programs help with the complex issues and struggles families face. In addition to our physician specialists, certified hematology-oncology nurses, social workers, psychologists, nutritionists and physical therapists provide resources and support. You'll find access to our Cade Cancer Center a breeze with a weather-protected entry to the OU Physicians Building and valet parking. Contact us if you're facing a blood-clotting condition or any of these cancers:
