Our radiation oncologists use one of only two Gamma Knives in the state to destroy brain tumors and
blood vessel abnormalities without an incision. Some of these conditions might otherwise
be untreatable. Through this 20-ton unit, treatment is administered to critical locations
of the brain without surgical risk or a long hospital stay.
We also specialize in the following therapies and treatments:
- Image fusion
- Palliative medicine
- Intensity-modulated radiation therapy
- Combined treatments with chemotherapy for lung cancer and head and neck cancers
- Low-dose radiation for Graves' Disease
- Total-body irradiation for bone marrow transplant preparation and leukemia
- Pre- and post-surgical bone radiation
- Radiation for skin cancer and tumors just beneath the skin
- Brachytherapy, including:
- Permanent Prostate ("Seed") Implantation for prostate cancer
- Low-Dose-Rate brachytherapy for selected recurrent cancers
- High-Dose-Rate after-loading brachytherapy for gastrointestinal; lung;
breast and gynecologic; and esophageal
cancers
- Image-guided radiosurgery
